    This form of therapy is focused on the story the body is telling. This “bottom-up” approach works with sensations, emotions, and survival responses as they come up in real time.

    If you feel stuck in chronic patterns of avoidance, anxiety, numbness, or reactivity, your body may hold the answer. A balanced nervous system can activate appropriately to keep you safe or keep you connected. Stressful events and trauma can disrupt this balance, and interfere with your ability to regulate in the present.

  • How can Somatic Therapy help me?

    Moving through those patterns, in small doses within a safe setting, can release what has become stuck or habitual. The goal is not to eliminate those feelings or responses. Somatic Therapy allows you to experience them when appropriate, and then come out of them to a more regulated baseline.
